M Rakimul Islam is a Bangladeshi independent filmmaker and writer. He is known for writing social awareness books that make readers question old habits from the past to the present. His films are mostly short with meaningful stories based on real life experiences that people encounter in their daily lives.

Director’s Statement of 2025 Films — Out of the six short films produced in the 2025 cycle, Time to turn the page was the only project submitted to film festivals in 2026. This decision reflects Rakim's perspective on the collection, as only the most definitive work from that year was selected for external exhibition to ensure the highest standard of presentation.

Festival Submission Update (August 13, 2026): "Time to turn the page" Received for DIMFF 2027 — Independent short film "Time to turn the page", directed and produced solo by M Rakimul Islam, has been officially received and acknowledged by the 13th Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival (DIMFF 2027). The project was submitted under the festival's One Minute Category, a section reserved for Grade 1 to 12 student filmmakers competing for the ULAB Young Film Maker Award. Organized by the Department of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), DIMFF is an international mobile filmmaking platform recognized by global university rankings such as WURI and the Wharton-QS Reimagine Education Awards. The submission operates under the official tracking reference
